Serafina is a sweet, gentle girl who was a little bit shy when she came to us, but she is coming around nicely and is responding to all the care and treats she receives here. She is calm and playful, and enjoys the company of everyone who visits with her. She would make an excellent companion for a lucky male rabbit, or for anyone who would like a quiet, easy-going addition to their family. You're sure to fall in love with Serafina.
From Serafina's foster mom:
"Hi! My name is Serafina. I am a Palomino mix with beautiful long eyelashes [if I do say so myself]. I was rescued and have been at the Brambley Hedge Rabbit Rescue shelter for quite some time now. I had semi-chronic nasal congestion [whatever that is]. All I know is that got really bad and it was hard to breath, so I went to a foster home for medical care. While I was there, I learned what it was like to live in a nice home with someone who loved and cared for me! I didn't really feel safe at first, but now I am learning to trust people and even LIKE them. My favorite thing to do is to sit next to a human on the couch and be petted! I can sit there for a long time. I'm still a little nervous about being picked up, but if someone handles me gently but firmly, I do ok. I also like FOOD! I dive on my pellets and love the greens and carrot my foster mom gives me. I will eat hay if there's nothing else, but it's not my favorite. My foster mom says I can't have too much of the "good stuff" or I will get fat and that I need hay to keep me healthy, but I don't agree at all.
"I am very clean and an excellent litterbox user. I hardly shed at all and am easy to groom. I don't play with toys much or chew on the wooden toys. I do occasionally chew on my grass mat or on a toilet paper roll. It still takes me a while to adjust to something new, so anyone that takes me home will have to be patient with me until I get comfortable and learn to trust them. But once I feel secure, I will binky and bliss roll with the best of 'em.
"Since I do have a tendency toward nasal issues, I am sensitive to strong fragrances [they make me sneeze!] so I'd like to go to a home that doesn't have a lot of perfumes, air fresheners, candles and other strongly scented things. And being a rabbit, I have a pretty sensitive nose! Because I'm somewhat timid and cautious, I think I'd do better in a fairly quiet home without small children.
"I like to be petted and I like to lick my human, so I may like to have another bunny to groom and be groomed by, but I don't really know.
"I sure would like to go to a forever home with someone I can love and who will love me too!"
