My Daisy
Daisy was only with me for just over 2 years. I got her as a baby from a pet
store. She was so active, rowdy, and such a pleasure to have at home. She
would run through the house and brought joy to everyone she met. She litter
trained herself and earned free reign of our home. I never worried about her
with our 3 cats and dog because she could hold her own. She'd chase them
around, jump on them, but would sometimes be found cuddling with them on the
dog bed!
Daisy was such a curious little girl, always having to investigate everything
happening in the house. If something was changed, she was the first to check
it out. She had tons of toys, but her favorite thing to do was to just lounge
around watching the other pets. Friends would always comment how cute and bold
she was. Daisy was afraid of nothing! I loved her spirit.
In Daisy's too short life, she traveled cross county from Arizona to Illinois
on my winter break from school. She and her favorite cat buddy, Sullivan rode
in a car for 2,000 miles, stayed in hotels, and lived in a new place for a
month. She was such a good traveler!
On September 14, 2007, I noticed my sweet bunny was not her active self. She
had a really hard time hopping without falling over and couldn't make it into
her cage by herself. She had also not been eating. After calling animal
emergency at 11 pm that night and being told they couldn't help her, I was
expecting the worst. Early on the 15th, I succeeded in finding an emergency
room who was willing to try to help her. We found a problem with her tooth
that should have been enough to help her. A vet filed down her tooth and gave
me food to syringe feed her. He and I were both confident that she'd get
better, but she died in my arms a few hours later.
We will forever love and miss our sweet Daisy.
