Success Story
Hello,

Just about a year ago I adopted one of your rabbits at the Phoenix PetSmart, and I wanted to belatedly thank you for your enlightened service to the bunny world!

I picked a young undetermined breed brown-furred blue-eyed shy male, originally named Bambi, but soon changed to Bowie (after both the strange-eyed rock star and the frontier hero). My first rabbit was a female Dutch/Rex Navy Seals style rabbit, and that was quite an experience, but I am extremely happy with my very unmilitary male!

At the moment he is sprawled out next to me on the rug, as he likes to do when I'm at the computer or in front of the TV. I really wanted to send you guys a photo of his typical demeanor, which is with front and back legs stretched out in maximum relaxed leisure mode; but that portrait will have to wait. Although he was very timid at first with all the initial stress and changes, it was obvious that the shelter volunteers' grooming and care prepared Bowie for a slavish devotion to petting and love, and that is what he gets here in his large household. Unbelievably, I have had virtually no problems with litterbox training or house destruction. He gets the full run of the house; and the front yard under supervision (I live in a wilderness national park, so I have to look out for rattlesnakes, hawks, and owls). At the moment, he gets to eat fresh carrots and chard from the garden. You get the picture, a very spoiled & happy rabbit! And I have the constant pleasure and amusement of an attentive furry companion, who jumps into my bed in the morning to wake me up, and at times sleeps next to me.

Thank you so much for taking care of the sweet, innocent rabbits!

Sincerely,
Ami Pate
